drivewithahammer,ormagneticallybymeansofstrongmagneticpower,thusmakingthedataunreadable.
Butitisrecommendedthatyouusethesoftware(payware)orservice(payservice)developedforthat
purpose.Theprocessmighttakeseveralhours.
Fordisposingofdataonthesolid-statedrive,LenovoprovidestheDriveEraseUtilityforResettingthe
CryptographicKeyandErasingtheSolidStateDrivetool.
Fordisposingofdataontheharddiskdrive,LenovoprovidestheSecureDataDisposaltool.
IfanEncryptionsolid-statedriveoraDiskEncryptionharddiskdriveissupportedandinstalledinyour
computer,youcanlogicallydisposeofallthedataonthedriveinashorttimebyerasingthecryptographic
key.Thedataencryptedwiththeoldkeyisnotphysicallyerasedbutremainsonthedrive;however,it
cannotbedecryptedwithouttheoldkey.ThisfeatureisavailablewithDriveEraseUtilityforResettingthe
CryptographicKeyandErasingtheSolidStateDrive.
